Heron

Laely Heron was raised by unconventional parents, and has lived an unconventional life in Africa, Asia, Europe and the U.S. She spent the first three and a half decades of her life fulfilling her appetite for adventure, her thirst for risk taking, and her endless curiosity in places, people and things that offer what she describes simply as "something more."

This is what to expect from Heron Wines; something more than what you ordinarily find in wines at such an everyday price range. Wines with balance, character and soul.

Heron's philosophy and wines are direct reflections of Laely's spirit - pioneering, adventurous, daring, smart, adaptable, thrill seeking, irreverent, non-traditional and international.

Pinot Noir (Vin de Pays d'Oc)

Delicate spice, exotic aromas with strawberries, sandalwood and vanilla, this is a remarkably elegant and complex Pinot Noir. Enjoy!

"Winemaker Laely Heron has embraced the finicky grape and crafted a Pinot Noir worth twice the price...Once you try this wine, you'll race back to the store to buy it by the case." Leslie Sbrocco, San Francisco Chronicle, February 2005

Merlot (Vin de Pays d'Oc)

The Heron Merlot, Vin de Pays d'Oc is used as a benchmark teaching wine at the Institute of Enology in Montpellier, France for its varietal exactness and expression. Its character comes from old vines, low yields, extended maceration and great terroir.

Supple, with pretty cherry and raspberry flavors on a medium-bodied frame. The spicy finish is filled with notes of cardamom and baker's chocolate." In A World of Values, Heron Merlot rated one of the "best-priced wines on planet Earth." Wine Spectator, 87 points
